National Hispanic Heritage Month, observed from September 15 to October 15, celebrates the history, culture, and contributions of people with roots in Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. At Project Light of Manatee, this celebration has special meaning as many of our students come from Latin American countries. Their dedication to learning English helps them build new opportunities, support their families, prepare for citizenship, and become active members of their communities while sharing the cultures and experiences they bring with them.
