Registration is now open for the 2026–2027 school year at Project Light Language School! Beginning July 1, new and returning students can enroll in English courses from Basic to Intermediate High, as well as Conversation, Pronunciation, Digital Literacy, Career and Workforce Readiness, and Citizenship Preparation classes. With flexible schedules, affordable tuition, and scholarships available, Project Light offers opportunities for every learner to build skills and achieve their goals.
Reading is one of the most powerful tools for learning English. This article explores how regular reading helps ESL students expand vocabulary, strengthen grammar and comprehension skills, improve pronunciation, and build confidence. It also highlights how Project Light students use the Kids A-Z platform to access hundreds of books tailored to their interests and language levels, making learning both effective and enjoyable.
Students at Project Light of Manatee marked the end of the 2025–26 school year with a graduation celebration, photos with classmates and teachers, and a multicultural luncheon featuring traditional foods from around the world. The event provided an opportunity to celebrate accomplishments, reflect on the year’s progress, and discuss ways to continue building English skills during the summer months.
The 2025–2026 school year at Project Light of Manatee was marked by growth, resilience, and meaningful progress. Expanded instructional hours helped strengthen students’ English proficiency, while the school continued to provide a welcoming environment for adult learners from diverse backgrounds. Despite challenges affecting enrollment and retention, students remained committed to building brighter futures through education and community support.

In recognition of National Nutrition Month, first established by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, we share practical advice on healthy eating from one of our students, a trained dietitian from Brazil. While improving her English at Project Light Language School, she offered simple guidance to classmates on choosing natural foods, drinking more water, and building balanced habits for better health.
In honor of National Reading Month, we reflect on the lasting value of reading. At Project Light Language School, students read dozens of short books during their course, helping them expand vocabulary, strengthen their English skills, and build a lifelong habit of reading.
