Jose Eduardo Saenz Jimenez brings an engineer’s mindset and a personal ESOL journey to his classroom, helping adult learners overcome language barriers with confidence. Through engaging, practical strategies and a strong sense of community, his students build real-world English skills that open doors to professional and personal growth.
This edition reflects on the meaning of Easter and the legacy of Project Light of Manatee’s founder, while highlighting inspiring student achievements, community partnerships, and programs that support immigrants through education, financial literacy, and personal growth.
In recognition of National Nutrition Month, first established by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, we share practical advice on healthy eating from one of our students, a trained dietitian from Brazil. While improving her English at Project Light Language School, she offered simple guidance to classmates on choosing natural foods, drinking more water, and building balanced habits for better health.
In honor of National Reading Month, we reflect on the lasting value of reading. At Project Light Language School, students read dozens of short books during their course, helping them expand vocabulary, strengthen their English skills, and build a lifelong habit of reading.
