REGISTRATION FEE AND ENGLISH COURSE COSTS
The enrollment registration fee is $50, which is non-refundable. However, this fee is waived for returning students. All students must be at least 18 years old to enroll in any Project Light courses.
The cost of the English language course is $200*. This fee includes all required study materials and supplies. After completing the registration process, a self-assessment, and an English placement test, students can join an English class throughout the school year, based on availability.
*Partial scholarships for the English language course are awarded to returning students based on merit, which considers factors such as class attendance, test results, and the practice of English both inside and outside the classroom, as outlined in the School Learning Contract signed at enrollment.
The English language course is conveniently scheduled twice a week, allowing flexibility for our students. Classes are available in the morning from 9 AM to noon or in the evening from 5:30 PM to 8 PM.
Project Light Language School has adopted the ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) curriculum, which aligns with the Florida Department of Education’s Adult ESOL Curriculum Framework. This curriculum aims to provide a comprehensive and effective learning experience for students, ensuring they develop the necessary language skills to thrive in an English-speaking environment.
The school offers a diverse range of opportunities for learning English. From beginner courses to those designed for advanced learners, each program combines in-class and online instruction to create a dynamic learning experience.
Project Light measures students’ English language progress and proficiency using the CASAS Reading and Listening Series, along with other proficiency tests recommended by ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages).
Project Light Language School does not conduct official interviews for citizenship. The Citizenship class will provide a practice foundation for this interview and assist you in learning important historical facts. However, Project Light Language School cannot guarantee that its students will pass the citizenship test. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will conduct the interview, evaluate your knowledge of U.S. history and government, and their decision will determine whether you pass the test.
The registration fee is $50, and the cost for the Citizenship class is also $50, which includes study materials.
This 8-week Citizenship course is designed to help students prepare for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Naturalization Test. It is tailored to meet the individual needs of each student.
To enroll in the Citizenship course, students must first take an English placement test that assesses their English language skills.
This eight-week Computer course is designed to teach basic computers. It meets once a week for two hours and is held at the school’s computer lab. The school provides computers for in-lab use.
The course is designed to equip you with practical computer skills that you can apply in your daily life. It will focus on using a computer and the Internet, conducting job search online, writing a resume, and other necessary computer skills.
With a registration fee of just $ 50 and a total course cost of $ 100, including all requested course material, this 8-week computer course is not only comprehensive but also affordable.
