Project Light of Manatee Inc., is a volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to providing English language instruction to adult speakers of other languages so that they may become productive members of our community.

We offer English classes from basic to advanced skill levels.  Project Light also provides preparation for the U.S. Citizenship Interview to our intermediate students.

About Us

To teach adults English skills that are necessary to function at home, on the job, and in the community.

To empower adult learners to participate more meaningfully in our community through English language proficiency.

We welcome diversity. We embrace cultural differences. We recognize the right of all individuals to mutual respect and acceptance without biases based on differences of any kind.

Who we are

Our students come from many parts of the world

We teach English to adult students at a minimal cost.  We rely on grants from foundations and individual donations.
Students pay $30 registration and book fee per semester (in August and in January.)  Scholarships are available.

Students really appreciate our volunteer teachers.

Project Light relies on over 30 volunteer teachers and two volunteer secretaries who help in the administration of the school.

We get results!
