Project Light of Manatee, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Bob Downie to its Board of Directors. A distinguished physician and dedicated Rotarian, Dr. Downie exemplifies the Rotary motto Service Above Self through his extensive record of volunteerism both locally and internationally. His medical background, bilingual proficiency, and deep understanding of community needs align closely with Project Light’s mission to empower adult learners through education and opportunity. The organization looks forward to benefiting from Dr. Downie’s leadership, insight, and unwavering commitment to service.
At Project Light Language School, we are joyfully celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 to October 15. This month is an opportunity to honor the rich culture and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. In this spirit, we are featuring Lidis Cuenca, whose story is particularly meaningful to us. Lidis was once a student at our school and later returned as a teacher. She exemplifies the valuable connection between our alumni and current students, sharing her knowledge and experiences with the next generation.
Project Light Language School celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month by honoring the culture and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. This year, we highlight Lidis Cuenca, a former student turned teacher, whose inspiring journey reflects our mission of lifelong learning and community connection.
Project Light Language School celebrates diversity and growth with 155 students enrolled. Our enhanced ESL curriculum blends intensive courses, workplace English, and digital tools, empowering adult learners to master English, build confidence, and prepare for careers.
