Closing the Literacy Gap" by Teaching English to Adult Learners

Membership and Partners

Membership

Project Light Language School and its staff are members of various professional organizations that significantly enhance the school’s curriculum and training. Being part of these organizations offers numerous benefits, including connections with peers and industry leaders, which foster both professional and personal growth. Additionally, these memberships create opportunities for new collaborations, partnerships, and business ventures.

By attending workshops and training sessions, the school staff gain valuable insights into industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. The knowledge obtained from these professional organizations reaffirms the school’s commitment to improving its curriculum, teacher training, and instructional methods, ultimately helping it to better fulfill its mission.

Partners

Project Light Language School is part of the growing trend of Community Partnership Schools in Bradenton. This collaborative model focuses on developing partnerships between schools and various community stakeholders, including families, local businesses, non-profit organizations, and government entities. Such collaboration is essential for success.

The Community Partnership School serves as a beacon of support for students and promotes their well-being, making a significant impact on the community. Project Light of Manatee enhances this partnership by utilizing its resources and expertise to teach English to the parents of students at Daughtrey and Manatee Elementary Schools. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of the younger generation, their families, and the entire community.

SALA was established in 2020 as a testament to the power of collaboration. It unites and supports local literacy organizations, including the Manatee Literacy Council, Literacy Volunteers of South Sarasota County, The Literacy Council of Sarasota, and Project Light of Manatee, Inc.

This partnership, built on the principle of collective effort, aims to share resources and best practices to educate the communities of Manatee and Sarasota counties about the importance of improving adult literacy. Enhancing adult literacy is crucial for the social and economic well-being of the people in the Suncoast region.

Project Light Language School is excited to team up with Project Prosper, an incredible
nonprofit organization! Together, we are working to enrich our community by helping our students gain a solid understanding of the U.S. financial system. This knowledge will not only make it easier for them to adapt to their new country’s economy but also support their personal and family financial stability. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this partnership will have!
