We are excited to have Elena as a new program director because of her vast experience as a teacher and administrator. She enthusiastically embraces Project Light mission to teach adults English language skills that are necessary to function at home, on the job, and in the community. Thank you, Elena!
Diane is one of our administrative assistants and has been with Project Light for over 14 years.
Thank you, Diane!
Grace is another volunteer administrative assistant who keeps daily operations running smoothly.
Thank you, Grace!
The teachers who volunteer at Project Light are special people who give their time and expertise to help others.
Our volunteer teachers come from a variety of backgrounds. Basic requirements are good English skills, patience, and empathy. Training sessions for new volunteers are available. Retired teachers with experience in ESOL/ESL are a plus.
Please contact us via email or by the telephone number listed on our Home Page. We simply ask that you commit to teaching one day a week for 2-1/2 hours. First steps to volunteering are coming in for interview and observing our classes. We'll work with you to accommodate your schedule and vacation.
The number of students in a classroom will vary between two and twelve students. Attendance from week to week varies depending on the students' schedules.
If you would like to help out but do not want to teach, there are other opportunities here at Project Light. Just call us or send us an email, and we'll be glad to work with you.
